Omega-3 Basic Test

The OmegaQuant Omega-3 Index test measures the amount of omega-3 EPA and DHA in the blood and delivers results as a percentage. An Omega-3 Index of 8% or higher is ideal. It represents fatty acid levels associated with the best states of health. However, up to 90% of Americans do not get the recommended daily minimum amounts of omega-3s.  Index levels of 4% or lower are common. 

The omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) have been shown to benefit a wide variety of health conditions affecting the heart, brain, eyes, and joints. They’ve also been associated with healthy aging in general. Thousands of papers have been published on their effects on the body, and the research is not slowing down.

Unfortunately, most people don’t get enough of these important nutrients from their diets, so testing blood levels is so important.
